To provide managers in the construction sector with knowledge of how effective risk assessments are carried out and how the process relates to their management and planning duties.

• Prioritise the outcomes of assessment
• Understand the relationship between assessment and various legal codes which apply
• List the main symbols which identify hazardous substances
• Understand and be able to use the 'Seven Steps' protocol for risk assessment
