Course Aims:

To provide supervisors, managers and senior managers in the construction sector with a basic knowledge of the health and safety legislation, which is applicable to their work, and enable the delegate to understand how an effective health and safety management system can be established and maintained.

Course Objectives:

At the end of the course delegates will be able to understand:

• The main causes and potential costs of accidents in the construction sector
• The main requirements of the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974
• The powers of inspectors
• The main requirements of HSG65 Successful Health and Safety Management
• How to implement the main regulations which affect our construction sites
• Why every incident indicates a need to re–appraise the company's management system and respond to any relevant findings
